Adopt-A-Highway

Four times a year, members of St. Philip’s pick up trash along Tollgate Road in Quakertown, in conjunction with the Bucks County Adopt-A-Highway program.  To find out when the next pickup date is, and how to help, contact Bill Henry.

Turkeys R Us

Every Thanksgiving and Christmas, the Turkeys-R-Us team asks the families of St. Philip’s to contribute a turkey to be given either to Twelve Baskets Full or to local agencies to give to families in need.  Contact Louise Shaheen to assist or for more information.

Monthly Outreach Collection

St Philip's Monthly Outreach Collection focuses on essentials that cannot be purchased with food stamps. Items like soap, shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrushes, sunscreen, paper goods, and many like items are not eligible under that program, and folks might have to do without when such things do not fall within their budget.

Each month, a different category of personal care items is targeted.  A bin has been placed in the narthex to collect the items.  Donations are delivered to Manna on Main Street in Lansdale and the Keystone Opportunity Center in Souderton.

To find out more, or to offer assistance, contact Mark Smerkanich, Louise Shaheen, or Irene Forssen.

The schedule of collection:

January                                Oral Care Products
February                              Paper Products
March                                   Baby Care
April                                     Cleaning Supplies
May                                      Skin Care
June                                     Bath and Shower Products
July                                      Oral Care Products
August                                 Paper Products
September                          Cleaning Supplies
October                               Bath and Shower Products
November/December        Turkeys
                                            Adopt-a-Family / Gift Cards

In addition, non-perishable food items are collected on an ongoing basis, to support Keystone's & Manna's food pantries. The food bin is located in the hallway near the great room doors.

Your help and generous contributions are appreciated!
