St. Philip’s 20/40 Fellowship recently partnered with Family Services of Montgomery County’s Project HEARTH (Helping Elderly Adults Remain in Their Homes) for their first service project.

Project HEARTH links elderly adults who are healthy enough to live in their own homes with special support services that help them to remain independent. These services are available to older adults, ages 60 and up, who live in the greater Norristown, North Penn and Pottstown areas.  Project HEARTH's services include:

  • Professional in-home counseling
  • Errand and transportation service
  • Friendly visiting and telephone reassurance
  • Handyman chore service

Through Project HEARTH, a licensed clinical social worker visits seniors in their own homes to help them cope with anxiety, depression, illness, isolation, loneliness, and loss.  In addition, dedicated HEARTH volunteers provide seniors with concrete support services, such as transportation, grocery shopping assistance and minor home repairs.  (More information about Project HEARTH can be found at http://fsmontco.org/programs/seniors/project-hearth-helping-elderly-adults-remain-their-homes)

On April 21, 2013, St. Philips 20/40 Fellowship assisted clients of Project HEARTH with yard clean up, minor home repairs and chores in a senior living development in Lansdale.
