Antiochian Women of St Philip's

The Women of St. Philip’s support our church community in many ways, such as providing hospitality for special events (mercy meals for the departed, Lenten retreat luncheon, etc.), sending cheerful greetings to shut-ins, and raising funds for special projects, both within St Philip's and elsewhere.  Women of our church have established and maintain a number of our ministries: Matushka Olga Sewing Club, St Andrew Rublev Iconography Workgroup, Creative Arts Workshop, Pysanky Workshop, Handmaidens, Youth Choir and more.  In addition, our women are an integral part of nearly all St Philip's ministries.  Where can your skills and talents support our community?

A Sisterhood serving Christ through serving others.  The Women of St. Philip’s is our chapter of the Antiochian Orthodox Christian Women of North America (AOCWNA).  AOCWNA is a national organization whose purposes are

  1. to develop among women throughout the Antiochian Archdiocese a spirit of Christian leadership, awareness and commitment as taught in the Holy Orthodox Church,
  2. to foster among women throughout the Antiochian Archdiocese a genuine expression of love and service through works of charity, and
  3. to instill among women throughout the Antiochian Archdiocese and the community at large a sense of fellowship and a deeper understanding of the heritage and traditions of the Antiochian Archdiocese and the Orthodox Church.

Every woman who is a member of an Antiochian Orthodox Church is de facto a member of AOCWNA.  For more information about Antiochian Women, see the video below or visit http://www.antiochian.org/women.

The Women of St. Philip’s invite all the women of St. Philip’s to participate in their ministry.  Meetings are held on the first Sunday of each month (September through June, check the calendar for exceptions), during Coffee Hour.  Even if you can't come to the meetings, we value your input and participation in other ways.

Contact Linda Morelli for more information.
